video freezes in comp and in render
by elisa lee on Jan 7, 2008 at 4:33:28 am

Hello!

This is very frustrating if anybody can help I'll be one happy nut!

When i place footage (mov or avi) into my comp, the footage looks fine the first time i scrub through, but then almost straight after it freezes on one frame so that i cannot see the sequence. When it is rendered, the footage is still on that one frame.

If i open the footage from ae whist the footage is "frozen", the preview window only shows that frame.
If i open the footage before the footage freezes, I see the movies no problem.

If i quit the program, start it up again, and don't scrub through the timeline, i can render most of the footage as it should be, but not all as my file gets longer...

I have recently installed after effects CS3 on my new MacBook Pro and have 4GB of ram.

Thanks, elisa

Are you turning on time remapping for clip?

Hello Richard,

I am not using time remapping on any of the clips which are freezing. I did use it on one previous clip but took it off as i thought that might be the problem.

I am using time stretch however.

I think something is triggering the footage to freeze. If i scrub through the timeline it all seems fine, then at one moment ALL the footage ceases to move.

Cheers
