creating a showreel

hi,

I've seen loads of showreels which have seemless transitions between content which give the animation a nice sense of depth. The content seems to be on one huge composition which flips and rotates onto different 3d planes and the camera zooms in and out using lots of ease. Please can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial for doing this? Any advice would be a big help.
