AE and Cycore FX

Could someone please tell me whether you have to purchase Cycore FX to be able to use the effects included in AE 7 or if they are included in the package. I am not allowed to have the cd as it is downloaded from our IT department. They did not load them properly the first time and then downloaded from Cycore FX site and now I have a X through them all. I explained that they have to be loaded separately from the cd and what they had done was loaded a trial version/ I was told the effects are just a demo... is this true?

The Cycore Effects with AE 7 are NOT a demo. Go tell those IT guys they're full of prunes. Yes, there are indeed demo plugins on AE installations disks, but the Cycore effects are the real, fully-functioning deal.

The Cycore Effects are on AE 7 installation disks as a separate installation. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they're somehow linked to the installation codes you use to install the main AE software. So those know-it-alls in your IT department must ALSO make the Cycore installation software available as well.

And it you're somehow password-prohibited from doing it yourself, they'll have to do it. Make sure they come prepared with the appropriate software registrations code(s) for AE and registration codes for the Cycore plugins, if there are any.

Dave, don't jump to any conclusions! I found out today, that the reason my After Effects 7 on my work computer doesn't have the CC Toner plugin was that it was not included in the license that my company has for AE 7 Professional. We get our software pushed to our computers automatically via the server. IT never sees the discs. Today I was told we'd have to order the Cycore FX package, in order to get CC Toner working.

Such a pain in the butt...but that's how corporate is sometimes.
