Creating a spinning globe with a grid.
by Etranger on Mar 3, 2007 at 10:05:30 pm

"create a grid (using "grid" effect)
apply "CC Sphere" effect
animate the rotation parameter.
using the default settings actually gives you
a pretty nice looking sphere. "

I was trying to do the exact same thing above.
But when I apply grid effect, I only get a half screen of grid.
So, my globe is also a half globe.
How can I make a screen-full of grid??

Please help~~~

Change the Sphere settings so it renders the entire sphere, and not just half of it. I'm not in front of my AE machine -- I can't tell you the precise name of the setting, but you'll find it.

You mean the Render tab in CC Sphere effect?
I did set it to Full.

I tried the same thing on AE 6.0 version and i got the full shape.
But, when I imported the layer made in AE 6.0 which created a sphere right to AE 7.0 version, it showed only the half of the sphere again.

What could be the problem? Should I try to reinstall AE 7.0???

Make sure you have Render to Full, not just Inside or Outside

It's been awhile since I asked this question.
Well, I wanted to post the result and about the answer I found.
I solved the problem by using different version of the after effect.
I couldn't get the effect I want in AE7, so tried with AE 6.0 and it worked as fine.

I still don't know why this happens.
but the important thing is that I got what I wanted somehow.
Thank you for those who tried to help me.
