I created a 1:30 min. sound effects clip in FCP. It contain audio clips form imported CDs and downloaded sound effects. Made it into a QT and then burned it onto a CD. Unfortunately, no other CD player or computer recognizes it except mine. Where have I gone wrong?

I even tried making it into a DVD in DVD Pro and that didn't work.

How did you burn the CD?
Sounds like you want a "Data CD" is that correct?

You put the .mov file on there and a file/data?

Or do you want a Audio CD?
Or do you want a DVD video?

I exported the FCP .mov file to my desktop. From there I dragged it onto an empty CD and clicked on burn in the upper right hand corner. I want an audio CD to play in a CD player. And yes, one of the CDs I burned said data file when I tried to play it.

I just want to hear the music/sound effects. Don't want a DVD- just a simple CD which I am obviously not doing correctly.

Please help.

Thanks

Adair

You need to export an AIFF 44.1Khz 16b. That's the standard for music CDs.
What I'm not sure is if the "Burn" utility in Mac OsX will be able to format the CD.
Anyway you can do it with iTunes.
import the AIFF and "Burn Disk".

Thank you SO much. You are correct - the burn utility in the Mac OsX couldn't format the CD but iTunes did.
