Audio sampling

Hi,

Does anyone know why the audio sampling and TC is linked with the sequence preset (not sequence settings) of FCP?

I had some strange out of sync problems on my last projects, the audio that I import take over the sampling of the frame rate sequence preset,...

For example, I receive a wav file 48khz 30s long based on a edit @25fps.
All my sequence settings are fine and coherent but when I import this audio file FCP told me
that it was not 30s long but 29s23fr,... (my sequence preset was on 23.98 fps
BUT if the sequence preset is 25fps, and i import the same file it's suddenly correct and 30s long,...

..... Why?
