Hi,

I have 7D footage shot at 29.97 and in error I batch conformed, in Cinema Tools, some of the files to 24fps.

Can I undo this?

Or what's the best way to go from 24fps to 29.97? And will that footage sit well with the other 29.97 footage?

It's an NTSC project I'm delivering to Beta SP.

Thanks!

Did you do this to the MAIN clips? Meaning the RAW camera masters? Did you duplicate the clips first?

You cannot undo a Cinema Tools reconform. CT does a "destructive" modification to the clips. And you cannot reconform back.

Hi Shane,

It's b-roll footage, no audio, so it's not the main footage.

I had some 60fps shots alongside the 29.97 footage. I thought that by highlighting only the 60fps clips that Cinema Tools would only conform those.

It was the original files and a back up hadn't been done yet.

So as opposed to natively shot 24fps, these conformed 24fps shots can't be properly changed to 29.97fps, is that correct?

Thanks,
Andrew.

I've got conforming back p25 to p50 with "Dumpster" (free), but man, don't ask me how.

Thanks Rafael,

I'll take a look. I looked at different threads and given the uncertainty around it I might be better off hopping in my car for a day and grabbing the footage again!

ALWAYS back up the raw camera files on several hard drives!

Yes you can. A Cinema Tools "Conform" process only changes the speed at which the files will play back. Simply open in Cinema Tools again and click "Conform" and choose 29.97. Voila, you're back.
