Hello! I usually export my video to Apple HDV 720p60 for Final Cut, and it works great. No rendering necessary.

However, now that we have a 7D, I want to go to Apple HDV 1080p60 --- but there is only 1080p30 and 1080p24

Why is this? THANKS!

Because the HDV specification does not allow for 1080p60.

All the best,

Tom

All are broadcast standards except 1080p60.
Anyway you shouldn't be rendering nothing in HDV.
Unless you are printing to tape, exporto to a decent format.

Dear Raphael,

I used to export to ProRes or ProRes HQ, but doing so SCREWS with my yellows.

I have no idea why ...

So, whenever I got sick and tired of ProRes distorting my yellows, I found HDV.

I have never had a problem with it : am I missing something?

No idea John, but i would try to find another option. Exporting to any GOP format will increase the rendering time; make a test with PhotoJPEG (75%).
BTW, when you render to Prores, do you set "High Precision rendering"?
