Help Scaling Full HD to 720p
by Declan Smith on Nov 7, 2009 at 1:32:59 am

Hi

I have raw footage that is Full HD (1920 x 1080) but is badly framed. The final project format is 1280 x 720. What I want to be able to do is drag the Full HD clip into the sequence and be able to effectively reframe it (as the source is in effect, a large size). When I drag the clip to the sequence, it first asks if I want to change the sequence (which I say No), then it displays in the canvas but it has been zoomed and cropped. I was expecting the wireframe to be larger than the image, allowing me to scale and reframe.

Any ideas?

In the FC Preferences you must check that the clips don't get resized when dropped to the sequence.
Or just select the clips in the sequence and "Remove Attributes: Basic Motion".
