NG Audio playback of sequence

Just installed FCP to my MAcBook Pro and have imported some .dv files to cut together. Problem is whenever I view material in source viewer the sound plays back perfectly. However when said shot is cut into canvas and appears on the timeline when ever I playback the sequence there is no sound only a steady beep, although with sound waveforms enabled I can see the sound on the timeline.
Help!

The audio needs to render. That's why you're hearing a beep.
Render audio, problem solved.

I figured it out after a while. I'm very new to FCP having just unpacked it and finding my way around. I'm sure to come up with a few more dumb questions - watch this space
