Hi
I am editing a project which was shot 1080i50 on a Sony Z1 camera and am editing natively in HDV using the appropriate HDV easy set up.
I now also need to capture some archive footage which will be on a variety of formats DV, DVCAM and Digital Betacam, I have a Blackmagic card with SDI. What is the best approach to mix these formats with my existing HDV footage, what capture settings should I use etc.
Do I need to recapture all my HDV footage transcoding it to something like ProRes or can I mix formats on the time line?

Starting from scratch, I'd capture HDV as ProRes. However, as you're already into it in HDV, I'd capture the new material as HDV when you upconvert with the Blackmagic card. IMHO it's best to capture or transfer to just one codec and then edit with that.
