DVCProHD digitizing problems
by Paul Murphy on Oct 24, 2008 at 2:08:12 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to digitize DVCProHD footage into FCP (vers. 6). The footage was shot 1080 30P - System setting in the camera was 1080i 59.94 (if that makes any sense).

I have a Black Magic Design Multibridge. So far trying to digitize through the Multibridge or through the firewire isn't working to give me a true 30p picture. I can get the picture in as 1080i59.94 but I'm trying eliminate the interlace because it is footage shot on a green screen and I'm trying to get the cleanest key possible.

I'm using a 1400 deck - I've tried putting the frequency to both 59/60 and 23/24 - neither is very helpful although I can at least see picture at 59/60.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

Murf

Looks like the culprit was a Western Digital Drive that couldn't hack the amount of data being thrown at it. I am now able to digitize at 1080p30 through the Multibridge when I use my XServe Raid.

Arrgh.
