Importing Quicktime animation

Importing Quicktime animation

I am having trouble importing a quicktime movie into FCP 4.5

.mov settings are 1280 x 720, Animation compresser, 10fps, square pixels

I've tried matching the sequence settings to match as closely as possible (except for the FPS) and it comes in slightly pixelated and worse still stuttery as if its dropping frames.

Is there a trick to importing that I'm missing?

ANimation is not an editing codec and unless you have some pretty freaking amazing harddrives.. won't play back in real time.

You can go to Unlimited RT for some sequence settings... but that is going to drop quality to try and playback.

Why are you working at 10 fps?

I kind of figured that the animation codec was not the best choice. It was how the flash programmer sent it to us and I have since spoken with him and had him export it as a DV stream.
