I have a tape for a client that is shot with about 300 separate shots. When I captured the footage the first time the deck search for the head of the clip and captured separate clips. The problem is clips were captured late by about 30 - 45 frames. I have to recapture the footage and want to capture as one clip. I was having problems finding the settings to adjust in FCP4.5 HD to capture the clip as one.

Set deck control to UNCONTROLLED DEVICE. This will make FCP ignore the timecode and capture over those breaks.
Bear in mind that without timecode reference, if you lose your media, erased, drive failure, then your edit is gone. You'll have to recapture and re-edit. With time code, you can recapture tapes exactly the way you did the first time and your edit will be preserved.

You could also dub the tape over with fresh new TC there avoiding any kind of TC problems if you need to go back to the source.
I could be wrong but last time I remember the function Capture Now, allows you to take in video across TC breaks where FCP makes new clips during every break. Although rumor has it (but I found not be true in my cases) that TC is not recorded during Capture Now.

Shane,
I trashed preferences before this project and reformatted the media drive. I captured the tape just fine now. It shows up as a 30+Gb clip on the drive and play in QT just fine. The problem is if I impoort the clip into FCP it shows only as the first clip of a little over a minute. Thanks.
