rap"dancing" video
by on Oct 15, 2006 at 10:38:56 am

when watching the video on TV while editing on Avid xpress pro and i stop or pause, the footage look still on the TV monitor, but now while trying to watch the video from FCP (different project) and i pause , the footage keeps "dancing" on the TV monitor and all my freeze frames look the same

p.s.: the video goes through FW PAL
i tried changing the field in the sequence setting to none but it doesn't look good

what is the problem and how can i solve it ?

many thanks

FCP sends the whole frame through firewire when paused. The difference between the two fields that make up the frame causes the jitter. My guess is that your Avid monitoring was set up to send a field to the extermal monitor when paused. This is not an option in FCP, at least not that I know of.
