fixing a hot spot

I'm trying to edit some video of man sitting at a table talking - he sits near to a window - you don't see the window - but the light shining through it creates a hot spot on the wall behind - I applied the broadcast safe filter and nothing seems to have changed - Can I fix this? Or at least can I reduce the hot spot?
