simplest free compression for newbies Win Movie Maker?
by Bob Cole on Aug 21, 2008 at 10:33:38 am

A client wants its customers around the country to submit videos to be edited into a presentation for the annual customer meeting. The customers are managers with no video experience, probably near-100% on Windows.

I've recommended that they offer two methods: (1) submit actual camera tapes, or (2) upload to a special FTP site set up for this project.

I use professional software for my videos, and have no idea what to recommend in the way of free software. Criteria: ease of use, quality, and preferably already on a Windows computer.

Windows offers an "automatic" route for uploading video from a camera into a computer, using Windows Movie Maker.

Quality if secondary to ease-of-use. Is WMM the best solution?

Thanks!

On the PC I haven't seen anything free (or indeed shareware) that's anything like as easy to use as WMM.
