Resource for VP6 HD Settings?
by Matt Warren on Jun 26, 2006 at 4:44:18 pm

I'm running some tests with HDV (1280 x 720) footage that will be encoded with VP6 for playback of training videos. The training will be loaded locally, so no bandwidth limitations - only processor/RAM limitations (and I don't know yet what those are.) Is there a resource that provides guidelines for encoding HD with VP6. I've browsed this forum and others and I've also looked at on2's website, but I've found very little on this topic.

That's probably because it's not a very widely used codec, especially for HD, when compared to WM or H.264.

That said you may want to do a search over at the doom9 forums, there's some stuff comparing VP7 encodes with H.264 encodes.
