Black and White Conversion
by Jordan Montreuil on Nov 5, 2009 at 8:23:34 pm

Is there any plugins or scripts for AE that adds a Black and White Conversion like in Photoshop? One where you can adjust the lightness values of various hues to get specific looks? I love this in PS and think it would be great in AE.

How about the whole bunch of effects under color correction? like Hue/saturation,...

If you have Photoshop Extended, you could just do this in Photoshop, since it does import and operate on video.

I seem to recall that Kevin Camp -- a guy who really knows his AE stuff around here -- swears by the Hue/Saturation effect. Just set the master color saturation to -100. Done.

AE sure isn't Photoshop, is it?

You can use channel mixer and set it to monochrome and tweak various sliders which will give you some contr over the lightness based on the hue.
