slow motion pulldown
by Tom Dempsey on Nov 2, 2009 at 5:56:59 pm

Hi,

i'm attempting to slow a clip down to somewhere around 75 percent. It was originally
shot at 23.976 and output to 29.97 using pulldown. Somewhere I read that i should take it into AE
and remove the pulldown. Drop it into a comp at 23.976 (use timewarp to slow it down to
75 percent. Then add the pulldown back in during the output stage. Would this be the best
process without paying for additional plugins?

Thanks,

Tom

[Tom Dempsey] "Would this be the best process without paying for additional plugins?"

Yes. Changing the speed of footage WITHOUT removing pulldown first is just God-awful looking.
