Issues importing .SWFs with Movie Clip symbols.
by Callum Whiteley on Oct 6, 2009 at 1:02:27 pm

Hi,

I am working with SWFs in After Effects CS3.

The Flash animation has frame-by-frame animated movie clip symbols inside, and has alpha and blur applied. Once the SWFs are imported into AE, the initial timeline all plays fine but the animation in the movie clips itself do not play, but show the first frame only, much like the same as when exporting as AVI video.

All I can think of is to export the animation from the movie clips as their own SWF and apply the blur and alpha to that? Long way round though!

Is there anything we can do to overcome this? A word of advice or a link to a similar thread would be appreciated. Deadlines!

Many thanks,
Callum.

Quit trying to use Open GL to speed rendering. It's so useless, the guys at Adobe don't even use it. Kapiche?
