Changing frame rates in a PAL composition

Hi wandered if anyone can help. Putting together a effect shot in After effects in PAL at 25 frames a second. Problem is using some stock footage that is 30 frames a second. I know how to change it in after effects but it still looks jerky. Understand Andrew Kramer has a frame converter but how do I get hold of it and how much is it. Also can you do it without buying a plugin?

If your ram previews at 29.97 look smooth, but your attempt at converting to a PAL frame rate look jerky, it was probably wrong.

I'm pretty sure it's in one of his freebie projects on videocopilot. Just know that it's a last-resort replacement for real frame rate conversion software, and the results are hit-or-miss at best.

Not well. There are no Magic Bullets for frame rate conversion. Look at plugins from Magic Bullet, ReelVision or Twixtor.
