After Effects error: not enought memory to render 500 (tryed with 100,200,700...) seconds of audio. try shortening your work area or turning off audio.
this error i get often in AE CS4 when trying preview. doing some thing with few compositions, movie clips and few songs. all together its 15 mins long.
i tryed few different preferances setting but nothing seems to help.
tryed turn off all audio but one, still getting same error.
is it in main preferances settings or something else.tryed to searh forums but didnt find anyone with similar problem so it must be me.
wierd thing is, some times its working ok, they after few days it stops working for few days and round and round.

hi goran,
in the memory & multiprocessing settings, try sliding the ram cache slider towards 'longer ram previews' and disable multiprocessing. this should give more ram for previews.
if you are using 32-bit windows/vista, make sure you have the 4gb switch enabled so your system can use the entire 4gb that you have installed. it's a .ini file that needs to be set, i'm not a windows user, but search for '4gb switch .ini' and you should get some helpful info on that...
another thing you can try when you see this happen, is choose edit>purge>all to clear the ram cache out prior to previewing or rendering.
and, in reference to what the error message states, shortening your audio files will help. ae loads all the audio in to ram prior to previewing, so shortening those will help.

thx for the reply, gonna look for that switch thingy.
tryed all else stated. the annoying thing is sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
anyway, while browsing trough forums to find answers, i saw thing where they say its helpful to break down project into separate files and then put them together so im doing it now, im on 15 mins (same as before) and still no error ;)
