Hello everyone,
i'm new to this forum. I've got a problem with which i'm struggling for days.
I've made a slide show with moving pictures and upcoming text (presentation of a collection of objects) which i've to put on a dvd 16:9 format.
My initial comp settings are
preset: PAL D1/DV Widescreeen square pixel
width: 1024
height: 576
pixel aspect ratio: square pixel
now by searching on the internet I've learned that this aren't the correct settings to begin with. So I render out by
DV render settings
Field Render: Lower Field first
Scan Mode: progressive
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Output module:
Format options>comression DV/Pal
and I use stretch to stretch to the size 720x576 PAL D1/DV Widescreen
when I burn this on dvd it looks like crap, even the 'text objects' aren't sharp?
Can anybody help me or put me on the right track (correct womp settings) for making
such a presentation for 16:9 widescreen using images and text for output on dvd

DV is NOT the best codec on the planet for good-looking graphics. Not at all. Compressing DV to MPEG2 for DVD only makes it look worse.
I recommend rendering out of AE in a high-quality codec: Animation set to best quality for Mac, uncompressed AVI for Win. Then use a DIFFERENT compression application to create the MPEG2 file for DVD.
