Trying to get paper falling away look

Hi.
I am trying to get a look of scissors cutting through paper and then the paper falling away to each side. I created the scissors in C4d and animated with an alpha. I am using masks to seperate both sides of the cut but am struggling a little bit to get both sides to realistically fall away.
As an FYI I am using Aftereffects 6.5. I am posting this in the C4d as well to see if it's better to do it there. My big issue though is that the whole spot is graphics and the beginning is done in Aftereffects so I'd rather do it in AE then take it into C4d for the paper falling away.

Kyle,
Thanks for getting back to me. I tried using the page turn and it was an above looking shot. The issue was that I needed it to realistically cover the 3d scissors that were animated in C4d.
I actaully had tried it before. The issue was that when I split it into 2 sides it didn't work. It cut across the scissors and looked unrealistic. Not that it had to be perfect because it is a pretty fast cut and had a motion blur but I needed it to look somewhat like it really would.
I ended up using CC Twister and animating the center of the twist and the amount. I was able to get it to look more like it was falling away. So 2 layers for the pieces getting cut, the right and left side with CC Twister. Then I used an animated mask to cover the scissors at the right spots. Not perfect but with the motion blur and speed it gets the job done.
Thanks again. Have a good one.
