Cigarette smoke shaped like a love heart
by Robert Bec on Nov 25, 2008 at 11:10:03 am

HI Guys

Clients have requested that they would like the effect where the guy blows smoke like smoking a cigarette but the smoke to be in the shape of a love heart and then fade away

I have footage of the talent pretending to blow smoke and now i would like to manipulate it with the heart shaped smoke

what next

thank you

Rob

Lots of ways to do this. But it's best to know which particle plugins you have.

BTW, ManUnited ROCKS!!!!!!!

Foam can be controlled to conform to a layer's alpha information. Foam can also be manipulated to create smokish particles. Just takes some experimentation. the alpha for the heart shape should be a grayscale image with no sharp delineation between the black and white portions or particle will jump the fence.

Foam is way cooler than ManUnited.

True there are several ways to do it in aftereffects, but don't you have any actual 3D software? Any 3D software's fluid dynamics should do it.

Sorry, I know you're posting in aftereffects and want to know it in aftereffects, but I just couldn't help it...
