South Park
by Graham Quince on Nov 13, 2008 at 8:58:19 am

After reading the latest Cow magazine and its article on the production of South Park, I got a chance to watch the South Park election special. It was premiered in the UK on Tuesday night, not sure about the US airdate? I was blown away with the topicallity involved and it had my wife and I guessing about how it was achieved.

Surely the entire episode wasn't written at the last minute, does anyone know how they did it? Were alternate scenes prepared? Or did the producers look at the polls and decide to do the Obama version?

Maybe they did it with three endings...

One for Cain, one for Obamba and one for Jesus?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere once that (believe it or not) they do South Park in Maya. They have most of the facial animations already set up so they can just apply them quickly...

But here's a story about this ep:

Took about a week they said...

The episode aired Wednesday, the day after the election in America. I remember hearing that they've been known to crank out episodes in as little as a couple of days.
