Vanishing/ghostly effect
by Nicholas Rapisardo on Nov 4, 2008 at 8:42:13 am

I was wondering in Adobe After Effects how it would be possible to make a person or object dissappear in a ghostly/vanishing fashion. By this I mean if I have a video of a person standing there talking how would I making them vanish as if they were a ghost?

Lots of ways to depict a ghost. Here's a tutorial to help you create a something passable.

Perhaps more glows and beightness will do to make it more ghostly.

To make it appear and/or disappera, you'll need some form of transition. use one of the built-in transitions that come with AE or you can create customised transitions using a mask or a gradient wipe.
