help repairing/fixing after effects?

I have after effects cs3, have for over a year, recently it is now crashing all the time, (during rendering) I can only render 4 seconds of video at a time and even then it crashes when its done.
I think i probably need to repair or re-install it or something, I have the entire cs3 master collection though and it took hours to install and I really don't want to re-install the whole suite...is there a way I can repair/reinstall just this app?

Please let us know how you make out.
Reinstalling is usually the last thing to try, not the first.
On a Mac, we'd start by trying to figure out if it's your comp, your project, some bad media, a bad third party plugin, or some obscure codec issue.
None of those are solved by reinstalling the application.
