lighting troubles
by Ben Weller on Oct 26, 2008 at 10:32:34 pm

hi there, im trying to build a moonlit set in after effects, its all entirely built in 3d layers. one of the problems im having is with the lighting. when i set up a light source to imitate the moon, it creates a shadow on the wrong side of a layer, but due to the position of the moon, theres no way i can get around this just by moving the light source.
Is there a way to get a layer to accept one light source, but ignore another?

Cheers,

Ben

On the Light that you DON'T want to cast a shadow, you can uncheck 'cast shadows', and have it cast on the Light that you DO want. These are global settings though, so I don't think you can have a layer accept one light while ignoring another if both are on.

[david bogie] "Can't I delete a post?"

In nearly 13 years of hanging around any of the forums we have built, have you ever been able to Bogie?

Think about it, the answer will come to you.

It's been 13 years?

Wait, that means you're just as old.
Or you've been hanging around here as long.
Maybe longer.
