Text layers from word document
by Greg Hahn on Oct 22, 2008 at 6:37:45 pm

Does anyone know if there is a way to take a list of names (about 1,000) in a Word or Excel doc and get it into After Effects as individual text layers --- besides typing each one in or using copy and paste?

i've seen some scripts that will bring text in from a file and create text layers in ae... the text files may need to be .txt files, but i'm not sure...

here's dan ebbert's.. it's in its raw form (you'll need to copy and paste it into a text editor as save with the .jsx extension to run from ae as a script):

and here's one from crgreen.com, it may be a bit easier to use and is downloadable as a script, ready to run:
