Jumpy Text Scroll
by Chris Waz (Waz) on Oct 6, 2008 at 12:27:49 am

i am trying to make a simple scrolling credits comp. with 90% white letters for a FCP project.
my AE comp is at 23.98, 1920 x1080, square pixels, 16:9. 1 minute 10 seconds long.
I am keyframing the text with the position parameter. Text was pasted from a text document.
When I play back in FCP and view on a broadcast monitor, the the scroll is a bit jumpy -- not a nice smooth scroll. Text flickering is NOT a problem. Just the scroll. Any tips? Thank you.

Yeah, the frame rate for your comp should NOT be 23.98. It should be 23.976. 23.98 is NOT a frame rate, but a nickname makers of cameras and editing software have given to 23.976.
