MPEG-2 Output - no audio on the PC side

I've exported a perfect-looking MPEG-2 compressed file from After Effects CS3 using a MAC running OS10.
The MPEG-2 file plays fine in Quicktime on 2 Macs (video and audio),
won't open at all on another Mac,
and plays video but no audio in Windows Media Player on my PC.
The ultimate use for the MPEG-2 file is for insertion into a PowerPoint presentation on low-end PCs.

I'd get MPEG Streamclip (free!) to turn the mpeg2 video & audio into an mpeg2 file with MUXED (Multiplexed) audio.
And if I had access to Apple's Compressor, I'd use it to make the mpeg2, and not AE. I'd render in AE using Quicktime's Animation codec set to Best Quality.

Good leads. Thank you. But I can't help but wonder why AE's codec won't work. It seems very odd that it plays on some Macs, not others, and only audio on PC. This is the kind of challenge that will drive me crazy until I figure out the answer. But a deadline awaits! On to MPEG Streamclip...
Thanks
