CS3 Extreme issues and Crashes Urgent
by Leo Baker on Sep 5, 2008 at 9:47:09 am

Dear All,

Hopefuly someone will be able to help me with maybe a suggestion on a driver, bios, or a setting somewhere as been working with Adobe Technical support, level 2 level 3, and Engineering as to why I am getting all these crashes and can't work with Adobe Production premium cs3 on my Windows computer. Here is all the problems and my system specs.

After Effects
After Effects has encounted a crash opening , rendering, stopped responding errors.

Premeire Pro
1. When editing I razor a track and go to drag the clip and I get the error, Adobe Premeire pro has encountered a serious error and has to be restarted.

2. Premeire pro hangs when opening takes about 2-5 mins to open the dialogue, new open project file when I double click on the open Premiere icon.

3. Export to h264 from the Adobe Media Encoder, I get unknown error when it reaches the last part, using Google, myspace, export for h264. I keep trying then say 1 time out of 5 tries it does not fail.

4. Source and Programme monitors, my displays are only showing a small section of the video, I try and re-scale the windows, change them to fit, 100%, 75% etc and I just get a distorted like dragging picture and it also shows my desktop of my pc when I minimlise Premeire and restore to full size or half size. Then after a few times, I click the video double click ont he timeline, it then plays okay but the scaling is not correct.

5. Can't activate recorder error when trying to capture from HDV or DV cameras.

6. My Current Time indicator in Premeire pro, then starts to show a drag of red current time indicators when I am editing then I minimilise Premeire then open full screen then it goes back to normal.

7. When I am browsing fonts in the Adobe titler I get the following crash,

Bridge
User interface slow, the side bar which shows my previews is lagging then shows the WIndows desktop background at full screen when bridge is fully maximised, the problem is not as bad when I minimilise the window of Bridge to half size.

I have checked a different graphics card, memory, hard drive, Vista 32 bit, XP 32bit, Xp 64bit, I get the problem on both, used different versions of Quicktime, drivers for the Motherbaord, Nvidia drivers for the chipset on the

motherbaord and graphics, different bios's. Adobe tech support I been working with for the past few months to find the problem, level 2, 3 and Engineering told me they dont know what is causing my problem but it's hardware. And now there is nothing they can do to help me. Does anyone know what else I can try, so I can edit and have a stable computer to edit from? I never had any of these issues with Adobe Production Premium 2.0. I have literally re-installed on OS and cs3 20 times Adobe said they have never had someone activate and deactivate so much. i am

just wanting to work and edit and i cant find the vause to this problem.

My Systemspecs are;

INTEL Q6600 2.4GHZ 8MB CACHE
Power Supply 550w Seasonic SLI
Graphics XFX NVIDIA 8800gtx
ASUS P5N32E-SLI PLUS MOTHERBOARD (Latest Bios, also tried older ones)
Elixir 4X1GB PC8500 1066MHz CAS 5-5-5-15
Sata 2 320GB, boot drive, tested with IDE drives as well.
Sata DVD RW/ tested with Sata and IDE
OS: Windows XP Professional 32bit with sp3 tested with Vista Ultimate 32 bit with Sp1

Thanks,

Leo

this may sound bizarre, but I do belive that all these various problems stem from one source, your video card. Try disabling opengl in your operating system and all adobe products. also, you may have conflicting older adobe drivers working with newer adobe drivers. I'd do a fresh install of Windows as a last resort.
