moving plugins to newer system
by Dan LaCloche (dlacloche) on Aug 27, 2008 at 7:49:16 pm

I'm lazy.

Is there a way to move plugins from my AE 6.5 on my PowerPC based Mac Powerbook to my new Intel based Macbook with AE CS3 without looking for the original discs or entering a million serial numbers?

Can I just drag and drop them into the plugin folder or something easy like that?

Thanks.

Better start un-lazy-ing yourself!

Not only can you not do what you propose, but every third-party plugin you own has been re-written in order to work in AE8.

So you have to go to the web sites of your plugin makers, download the new versions and THEN install them according to the makers' installation instructions... and every maker seems to have a different way to install them!

So start looking for all those serial numbers! Have fun!
