ae is only a 32-bit application so it can only address 3gb of ram. however, if you have a 64-bit os (osx, xp-64, vista-64) and multiple processors, then you can enable multiprocessing. this will launch a render engine for each processor that you have. each render engine can then use up to 3gb of ram...
so if you have 4 processors and 8gb of ram, with multiprocessing you can use all 4 cores, and all 8gb of ram for rendering (and preview rendering if you disable opengl for previews).

I have Multiprocessor on , open gl on, i was trying to "play " with configuration about memory and cache . my machine works slow like hell .
Can You help me with find solution for god setup this gear ? i will buy also a raid card for hard drives by Caldigit so everything should works FAST ???
