sideways tracking judder
by mike Sedgwick on Aug 1, 2008 at 3:05:41 pm

Hi,

I'm having a spot of bother, where I've got a created environment in after effects, and i'm tracking past it, and when i render it out there's a judder/jitter instead of smooth sideways tracking.

does anyone have any tips please?

thanks,

mike

I'd change the speed of the horizontal motion a little, add motion blur, or both.

You get the same sort of phenomenon when shooting video just by panning camera at the wrong speed. Traditional cel animators used to get it all the time, too. It's simply a function of the frame rate combined with the wrong horizontal speed.
