Page Turn Front to Back Like Book
by Steve Johnson (sjohnson) on Jul 28, 2008 at 10:09:43 pm

Hello,

So I've searched this forum for the answer, and there is a ton of posts with CCPage Turn listed. But none of them really do what I want to do. I have a project, where I'd like to make some pages look like newspaper pages. What I want to happen is the really simple look of a page being grabbed, pulled open and then laid to rest on the opposite side, revealing the next layer below. And possibly, turn another page, and another. Nothing really special, but just turn a page, reveal the next pages.

CC Page turn really is intended as a transition. I tried for a while to use the corner pin effect, even the Polar coordinates effect, but none really do what I need.

Is there a way anyone knows of to accomplish the book-flipping effect within AE? I don't think that this is ultimately too complicated. I don't want to delve into C4D for this, either, as that seems overkill in both functionality and in my time.

Thanks for any assist!

This might not be organic enough for what you're doing, but it's worth mentioning anyway... On your page layer, move the anchor point to the left edge, then make it a 3d layer. When you "turn the page," rotate along the Y axis 180 degrees.
