Lazer Lights

I have a green screen portion of a music video in which I would like to put lazer lights behind the artist. I am thinking Particular may be able to do it but I don't know how to make it do what I want. I want several lights that periodically appear and disappear, but all comming from the same origin.

Right now this is the best I can come up with.

the feeling is something like lasers but in my opinion is much much better
