Dynamic Link / After Effects Workflow: Is One better than the other?
by Michael Ratner on Jul 17, 2008 at 7:12:24 am

Hello all.

Please help me. This is not a long request but a simple question of Workflow.

I am an editor for interview footage, and in the interview footage it is required a bar shows up and names be faded in and out within a 20 second window of two people.

I use Adobe Dynamic link, make the bars, the fade in interval...and usually export via Premiere (deinterlaced footage as camera is HDi).

Now my question is: Is it better to use After Effects to import the raw footage after premiere export, add the titles, and then export as a final deinterlaced raw? Or should I stick to my Premiere/Dynamic Link method?

For some reason to me, it seems like Adobe After Effects processes EVERY frame in the film than the frames of the actual bars themselves. Is this true ? Because it seems like doing the first one results in extremely slow render times.
