Just a little problem, I will give the basics. Project consists of two text fields doing a simple x-position move, 6 Quicktime Movie files, no moves, just playing. Two of those are alpha keys. 1 Movie file is set up with in "add" mode. 3 Movie file is set up at 100% size. Two PSD's equal in size, doing an x, y move, scale from 70% to 50%, as well as a dissolve on. The PSD's animation stopping in 4 seconds.
So extremely simple. Render time in After Effects 7.0.1 is 2 minutes and 22 seconds. Render time in After Effects CS3 8.0.2 using multi-processors checked or unchecked, takes...... 1 hour and 55 minutes.
Final movie file Rendered is 20 seconds long when complete.
Does this make any sense or is there a new secret preferense like holding down some keys to show a preference file I am not seeing???? Frustration????

Answered. The Ability for using the Track Mattes in After Effects CS3, is almost useless.... Increased Render times to 1 hour to 30 minutes. Used masking in After Effects to rebuild masks, and done. Render took 1 minute.
