Vista Issue
by Esteban Duperly on Jul 11, 2008 at 8:37:39 pm

Hello there! I installed AE CS3 for first time in a pc that uses Vista and I’m experiencing some issues. I opened some compositions in which I used particles, shadows, blurs and the like and everything was fine but problems came in when using stencil and alpha track mattes. Solids used as track mattes got distorted and all looks pretty messy. I thought it could be due to the graphics card but then I checked the same project in a pc that uses a pretty good card and same happened again. Anyone knows what could be the problem?
Thanks a lot.

I don't know what the issue is, but you might want to try activating the 'hidden' administrator account on Vista. Some of the myriad problems I've had with Vista have been rectified when I've used this account. Google the topic and you should find simple step by step instructions on how to do this.

Though I don't want to get into a Vista slanging match, I think it's hardly encouraging that Dell has resumed shipping machines with XP installed for business customers who request it.
