Memory error (please help!!)
by Justin Von Konsky on Jul 1, 2008 at 11:10:09 pm

Ok...I know that this is a frequently posted subject, but I think I have tried everything in previous posts. I'm having trouble rendering a composition, every time I try rendering I get an error "After Effects: not enough memory to create COR_BibAlloc...", it occurs at exactly the same frame every time. When I go in to to comp itself I still even get the same error. I have checked every layer it seems that no effect is causing this. I have 2 gigs of Ram and a Pentium 4 Processor 3.2 GHz Please help

Yup...this one has been beaten to death, but if you don't know the answer, just knowing that someone else has it doesn't help much. I think this sounds like a job for the "Secret" settings. Hold down the Shift key while you enter your AE preferences. There will now be a "Secret" category. Set your purge (I think that's what it's called - I'm not in front of my box) to 1 frame. If that works, try the setting a bit higher - I use 5 frames, and it works great for me...no error messages.

Thanks, but it turns out it was a single layer that was causing the problem. I just turned it off and it rendered all the way. Thanks again though
