Rendering my camera

I have a 3D space that looks like the corner of a room. There is some 3D text sitting near the corner and a spot light that turns on and moves around the corner of the room. I also have a camera that moves around the text and then zooms in closer. When I preview my comp it shows my camera's view (Camera 1), which is what I want it to do. When I render my comp it goes back to the active camera and nothing renders at all. The clip is 0 seconds long and it just shows my 3D text in the corner. No animation.
I thought that having my camera on the top layer was the way to set it to active camera? I did that and the same thing happens when I render. Help me please!

No, I don't think so. I use the custom view to animate and I know what that angle is. Am I out of luck? I don't think there is much I can do. Get back to me if you have any other suggestions. If not then that's fine. Thanks for trying.

In the tab where you select Active Camera, Custom View 1, etc there should be an option to select your camera layer. It should say Camera 1 or whatever you renamed your camera to. If you only have one camera, that's an easier and more reliable way to do it than to rely on the Active Camera.
