Copy text from clipboard bug

I've recently upgraded to Vista 64-bit which uses my 4gb well for use of AE3.
However, I seem to not be able to copy text at all from the clipboard to a text layer. Any clever workarounds?

Same problem here with xp 64 bit and AE cs3, that problem really costs time...

Yes, I've been using a script instead:
