Keyboard shortcuts: Change comp duration to layer's? Move to end of layer?

I'm finalizing a project at this time, and the process involves selecting small clips from dozens of large ones, painstakingly ensuring they start/end on exact frames, and storing the results of each edit as its own comp. The mass of individual comps (clips) will ultimately be assembled into a chronology.
The biggest timesinks in this process right now are: 1) Determining the exact duration (minutes, seconds, frames) of each clip after it's been whittled to size. 2) Changing the comp duration to the layer's duration, so that when I import the comp into the final assembly, it won't include several minutes of missing video (black).
Keyboard shortcuts for those functions would be great. Particularly a shortcut for changing a comp's duration to that of the selected layer. Either a shortcut or a right-click solution. Obviously, the system I have now - where I move the cursor around until I stumble upon the end of the clip, note the frame number, open the composition settings, and type in the number I memorized - is tedious and slow. I've got literally hundreds of edits.
I've looked around, but haven't had immediate success with this. Anyone have a suggestion? ;p

Select your layer in the timeline,
press CTRL+ALT+B
this will adjust you work area to your selected layer
Right Click your work-area
select "Trim Comp to Work Area"
done.

wow, that's good "alt-apple-b" in my case
I always navigate to layer in point "i" start workarea "b"
goto outpoint "o" end of workarea "n" menu "trim comp to workarea"
but yours is faster!
