Removing tracking points

I recently shot an interview with a jib in front of a green screen. I wanted to track the background with the jib motion so I used black tape as a the track point. I guess I didn't think this through enough, because removing that track point is proving to be a little more involved than I would like it to be. Is there any quick and easy way to remove the tracking point that doesn't involve a whole bunch of key frames? Help me, help me...somebody help me!?

Hi, I would use the sampleImage expression (in the Layer General tab of expressions) to gather data near the tracking marker if you really want to do it without keyframes.

Well, I just figured out a solution. I keyed the image and then added a green solid. I reduced the scale to cover just the black cross(tracking point). I then motion tracked the point to the solid. I then made the keyed layer and the solid into a precomp. Finally, I added a key to the precomp and keyed out the green solid. I hope that all makes sense. It works perfectly and is real quick. Let me know if you need me to explain it a little better.
