Won't Render Entire Image

Hi All
I am working on an intense project in After Effects-32bit color, text animators, 3d etc etc. I can work with it well enough in the composition-on full res and best settings it takes abut 30 seconds for a frame to render-however when I try to render it out After Effects it only renders pieces of the picture.
The best way of explaining this is that I am doing somehting similar to the great "Numbers Man" tutorial-but more intensive. There are about 40 boxes of text spread out in 3d with Character Offset parameters going. While they show up fine in the composition winder, when I render they hardly show up.
I have tried a number of things, like rendering as an image sequence, none of which seem to work. When I render as a movie, I am using the Animation codec with best settings, and as an image sequence either Tiffs or Targas. I have also tried exporting it. When I do that it recognizes all the text, but doesnt do 32bit.
I am doing this all on my MacBook Pro, which has 4gb Ram. Perhaps I need a more powerful computer. However, it would seem to me if it is able to create the files in the Composition Window it should be able to create them in an image sequence.
Are there some settings I am missing? Has anyone else ever experienced this?
