hi people,
does anyone know an affordable device that can take firewire out of final cut and after effects and convert it into something that can be plugged into a simple tv? like an rca cable? i have heard some users do it with a dv camera, but is there some stand alone box that does it?

It might be overkill for your situation, but just about every capture card out there (Kona, Blackmagic, etc.) can send a picture to a TV monitor from AE.
I congratulate you for trying to get a TV monitor hooked up. If you do AE work that eventually will be shown on TV, it's an absolute necessity.

Hi Dave,
Yes, I am really concerned about field issues more than anything. I really need to see the video on some interlaced monitor. As far as legal levels, I plan to use Color Finess's scopes to make sure my values are within range....
