Hello Guys, I have a problem with AE.
When I start the program it works fine. But as soon as I try to import a .mov (quicktime) movie, it crashes.
It can however, import .avi files and pictures.
These are the things that I have tried:
- Reinstall Adobe After effects (3 times)
- Download A new quicktime player (2 times)
- Restart your computer (1209512509 times)
- Ask help on forum (4 times)

Hey,
I know that problem. Captured by FCP the uncompressed .mov files cause a white screen in AE. Right at this hour it forced me to remember...
By exporting it using h264 .mov AE accepts. Well I`m no expert at all for all that container and codec stuff, but I´m really happy with h264`s quality results, so I keep on using it before transfering it to AE.
Unfortunatly I don`t have a solution without compression - give it a try if you want to, or wait for a real expert`s answer.
Stefan
Btw: Reading your other posts was quite amusing. Your language is so simular to german... also if you don`t want to hear that.

Stijn, the last time you posted on this topic, you said you didn't know what a codec was. This is basic knowledge. So is the term "image sequence". I STRONGLY suggest that look up the term "codec" in AE Help and, for a little background, in Wikipedia. Here's an english link; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codec
Once you can identify the codec of your quicktime movies, we can be of more help to you.
